DOGE: THE "E" STANDS FOR EVISCERATION

DOGE:  THE “E” STANDS FOR EVISCERATION

As a rational person you would like to think that perhaps there is a greater plan or scheme behind the current political insanity that appears to hold the United States in a firm grip.  Elon Musk, with the blessing of Trump, has turned DOGE into the department of Evisceration.  Cutting and slashing at random, one crazy directive after the other and you can only wonder as to the greater purpose.  The fallout has been costly and savings are in doubt.  The kind of governance put in place by the Trump administration is one of mass confusion, distraction and distortion and perhaps this model is pursued by Trump and company on purpose; provoke national unrest and rebellion and it may lead to laws invoking a national emergency act and turning the U.S. into a police state.

Remember that before Trump even took office he hinted that a national emergency law might be necessary “to put the country back on track”.  It would give Trump and his billionaire cronies a perfect opportunity to do whatever they feel like doing.  Enacting project 2025 and all its autocratic dictates.  Say goodbye to democracy and freedom.  The behavior displayed is that of medieval absolutists, hell-bent on pursuing a narrow minded view that it is perfectly okay for a small and select group of rich people to rule with absolute power.  Those supporting Trump must increasingly be sitting on pins and needles as he doesn’t stop his continuous raving and ranting.  But it also serves their purpose to keep the world, and Americans, on edge, distracted and confused.  Fingers crossed that he doesn’t go off the rails completely.  All of them ignore the sad reality that Trump is a psychopath and a manipulator and he has had plenty of practice.

His is a narcissistic personality disorder fueled by paranoia and anger and people have learned from his first term in office that he will fire and destroy anyone who dares crossing him.  Rex Tillerson called him a moron and was promptly let go.  The world hasn’t heard from Rex since.  Trump has a Hitler kind of personality; a second rate manager who only hires third-rate people who in turn will go out of their way to please the master.  Consequences are secondary in this scenario.  When you score a win, throw a party, when you lose, quietly slip out of the room as he starts throwing this temper tantrums.

People who voted for Trump have a difficult time reconciling and abandoning their support.  Trump promoted a kind of mass psychosis that is incredibly difficult to turn around; playing on people’s fears, exaggerating promises and pretending that Americans have been taken advantage of, cheated.  Less than two months into office and he is talking about punitive tariffs, annexation of territories, belittling neighbors and friends, destroying trade agreements and alliances.  Threatening wars.  Bombing Iran.  You would expect this kind of bizarre behavior from a deranged crackpot in the 19th century, but not in this day and age; an era of intellectual enlightenment and with a media proliferation with ears and eyes all around the world, instantly connecting and recording, even if some of the information is distorted, misleading or outright false.

What Trump has sprung on America and the rest of the world feels like a vicious cancer that has spun out of control like a wildfire.  Who in his right mind would hurl insults at valued trading partners and lifelong friends?  Who in his right mind insinuates that he will invade and annex territories that he desires?  Like a child reaching out for a toy with an “I want that.”

What makes the whole thing scary is a total absence of reason and logic and Trump and his administration appear blind to their excesses and the volatility of their behaviors and how it impacts on the U.S. and the world.  Power, greed and stupidity are the three most common drivers in the world of politics and economics.  People drunk on power tend to ignore that pushback is a given in a world that is run along spheres of influence.

The world has changed, at least I hope it has?

Increasingly we’re living in a much more cultured world desiring a global reality that acknowledges the value of mutual cooperation and dialogue.  Friends are a treasure and enemies are costly.

The U.S. is losing its prominence on the world stage; economically and strategically; hopelessly over extended and up to their eyeballs in debt.  It has created a power vacuum and within this changing political environment it is only natural that weaker powers will pursue ways and means to become stronger and even attempt to rival or surpass a superpower like the U.S.  The West has enjoyed a four-century-long advantage and it is eroding.  Trump and company have slipped into a predictable conflict mode, a model that is as old as the world and it will be met with the same predictable result.  Wars and conflicts are stupid because they turn everybody into losers and history spells this out, loud and clear.  Without fail!  Not a single exception!  Occupation doesn’t work and neither does petty retaliation.  Stupidity is an easy pill to swallow and it has never cured anything.  Unfortunately, power, greed and stupidity are joined at the hip and billionaire capitalists tend to forget that wealth only has meaning if it is shared, and if not, it only divides.

Liberty, brotherhood and equality, the cornerstones of democracy; if not embraced it turns into a meaningless concept.  And to paraphrase Martin Luther King: “An injustice perpetrated anywhere is an injustice perpetrated everywhere.”

Trump is the product of a complicated and dysfunctional childhood.  A domineering father who displayed the same kind of ruthlessness with his children as he did in all his business dealings.  He was known to evict people—especially the poor and people of color—who lived in slums.  Buy up cheap, evict, renovate or demolish and sell high or increase rents.  He was constantly embroiled in lawsuits and he expected his children—if they wanted part of his wealth—to behave in a similar manner.  The only one who measured up was Donald J.  The only one desperate enough to want to please his father and who tirelessly tried to emulate and surpass his father in his business dealings.  The adult that emerged was a person who didn’t want to be denied anything.  Winning was everything, no matter how many people it would hurt or destroy.  He faithfully followed in his father’s footsteps, either suing or being sued.  In Trump’s world, the one he has created for himself, he always has to win because it means he is right and they, whoever they are, are always wrong.  A warped sense of “rightism”.

Those who dare to litigate against him, or those he chooses to sue, are all people who in his mind are against him: he suffers from a persecution syndrome.  After each loss, settlement or win he vows to extract revenge and retaliates by either attacking “those against him” or he tries to destroy their careers.  The TV show the Apprentice was a platform that showed off his true personality.  The show itself had little to do with helping budding entrepreneurs and starting new careers.  It was supposed to be a helping hand from a professional.  No.  It was all about Trump and humiliation and that nobody was as smart as Trump or would ever measure up.

"Sorry, Elon, there is only room for one rooster in the Oval Office"

Trump is a typical second rate manager who could never tolerate people around him who are either his equal or his better.  He has accumulated his wealth through bullying, tax evasion and countless rescue and bailout packages.  He likes to pretend that he is untouchable and can do as he pleases.  As president of the U.S. he feels that he is the most important person in the world.  Unfortunately Trump is following in the footsteps of other so-called tycoons, like Rockefeller, J.P Morgan, Carnegie and Hearst.  And now Musk has joined that circle.  They actually believe that they can control the world in a winner takes all scenario.  The foundation of America’s wealth will also be its downfall as only a wealth that is equitably shared amongst the people of a nation provides for a lasting and enduring foundation.

The world may well end up abandoning America and pursue relations with the rest of the world instead.  It will be America alone.  An America without friends or allies.  Trump is unpredictable and his behavior resembles that of a weathervane.  Crackpot dictators like Adolf Hitler are proof positive that you never let a psychopath run your nation.  And America has just elected another one.

Canadians don’t have a beef with America and Americans.  What worries the world is the simple fact that an unpredictable, narcissistic psychopath like Trump hurls moronic insults at friends and allies.  His words and actions are destabilizing peace and global security.  A loose cannon who brings out the worst, behaves like the worst and is a disgrace to the highest office in the land.  He should have been put behind bars a long time ago.

It is up to Americans to deal with Trump, hopefully sooner than later, or nothing will be left standing.
